Role - Senior BuyerLocation - PeterboroughBenefits - up to £45k depending on experience / 25 days annual leave and Birthday Day, plus BH / Pension Scheme / Free parking / Bonus scheme.We have an exciting new role within our Finance Team as a Senior Buyer to support the demands of the growing business in liquid and powder process solution equipment, consumable supplier to the food, beverage, brewery, bakery, dairy and utility industries throughoutthe UK.This role offers a great opportunity to develop a new role within our company. Reporting to the Head of Finance & working in conjunction with Capital Projects, Service & Spares & Sales departments. The successful candidate will have the responsibility & mainpoint of contact for procurement.Qualifications / Experience Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience. Must hold UK driving licence.Main duties Responsible for all transactional direct purchase orders across the business. To purchase raw materials, components & equipment to achieve project requirements. Process orders and ensure timely delivery of parts. Work with other internal departments to ensure requirements are understood to enable procurement of parts and equipment. Negotiating, implementing, and managing contracts securing the most appropriate cost, quality and service for the business. Carry out any data retrieval and analysis to identify any improvements & produce KPIs. Responsible for identifying potential savings and implementing continuous cost reduction initiatives. To develop suppliers in terms of value engineering activities & parts identification. To manage expenditures around operational overheads i.e. phones, stationary, leasingSkills Knowledge of Food & Beverage, pharmaceutical, Industrial & chemical industry. Knowledge of Stainless-Steel Fabrication of Tanks & vessels, valves & pumps. A proven track record of building for sustainable growth and profitability. Demonstrable clear strategic rationale of how to approach the market. Experience of working in the UK with suppliers. Experience of dealing with clients, building strong working relationships. Commercially focused. Experience of working in a multi-Discipline environment and good understanding of co-ordination and interfaces with other disciplines. Able to innovate new solutions as well as applying existing solutions to problems. Ensure compliance of the equipment with legislation (EC Directives).
