Job Description

Circa £34,420 - depending on skills and experience Fixed Term Contract Full Time, 37 hours per week Dive into a world of opportunity!Are you a hardworking, prompt and organised individualIf so, this could be the right job for you!The main purpose of this role is to deliver effective and efficient scientific risk management service for Water Recycling to achieve compliance and efficiency targets.

  • Identify and utilise all environmental quality risk analysis tools
  • Understanding the costs and benefits of compliance activities to achieve compliance and efficiency targets.
  • Ensure that risk information is collated in an effective and informative manner
  • Work closely with the Pollution team to reduce pollution risk
  • Provide scientific support to the Biosolids Scientist and Flow Compliance Manager
  • Manage the Water Recycling High Risk List process.
  • Analyse the compliance and efficiency of Water Recycling Centres
  • Manage schedule of Upper Tier Audit programme to reduce compliance risk.
  • Work closely with the Service Delivery Scientists and operational teams to ensure that appropriate interventions are selected to reduce risk.

What does it take to be a Risk ScientistThe ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant scientific subject, along with the following attributes;
  • Ideally have or be pursuing a relevant post graduate qualification (eg CIWEM)
  • Ideally member of a professional body
  • Relevant operational science exposure
  • Demonstrable expertise in process science
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
