R&D Engineers - Mechanical Design Photocentric Ltd is a rapidly growing manufacturer based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and Phoenix, USA. Three times Queens Award winners, once for export and twice for innovation we manufacture our own 3D printers and resins and export all over the world. We have embarked on some exciting business partnerships which have rapidly changed the direction of our business. To support our rapid growth, we have an exciting opportunity to recruit talented R&D Engineers - Mechanical Design to join our creative team of design engineers. We have a friendly open environment with a fully equipped tool room and full prototyping ability.This is fantastic opportunity for creative hardworking engineers seeking to work in a technically complex, rapid R&D environment which comprises of teams of design engineers, chemists, software and print technicians. You must enjoy contributing to and participating in a dynamic team environment whilst having a hands-on mindset.Key Responsibilities of our R&D Engineers - Mechanical Design include: - Working within specialised groups designing our range of 3d printers for different applications from initial concept through to production.- Support and development and implementation of the technical roadmap.- Develop and carry out test plans, and complete test reports to validate any new components or products.- Have input on materials selection, to ensure products can operate as intended for their expected lifespan.- Continuous improvements in design, quality and efficiency.- Design prototypes in CAD (SolidWorks) to make and run tests- Keep abreast of industry trends and new technological developments in 3D printing.Skills and Experience required of our R&D Engineers - Mechanical Design:- Genuine interest in 3D printing- Proven experience of working in an innovative R&D company bringing new products to market- Ideally some experience gained in design and building machines using control systems, sensors or conveyors- Proactive and determined with a strong focus on delivering and meeting tight deadlines- Inquisitive and creative mind- Willingness to learn and the desire to work in a fast pace innovative company- Batchelors/master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subjectIf you would like to join our growing team and feel that you have the necessary skills and experience to become our R&D Engineers - Mechanical Design please click ‘apply’ now!
