Job Description

Job Title: Protection Adviser Location: Telephone based role. Home, hybrid or office based in Peterborough (PE8 6TJ).Target: Candidates with customer service and sales experience in a financial setting.Rewards: Basic salary of £25K + bonus and benefits, OTE £40K+Hours: Mon-Fri working two early shifts 9AM - 6PM and three late shifts 11AM - 8PM.Timeline: Immediate Interviews and Q1 2023 Start Date. GMC (part of Connells Group) is dedicated to delivering our Lifetime Mortgage & Protection Service to Connells Group existing mortgage customers. Our Protection Advisers specialise in advice and recommendationon mortgage and family related protection products, including life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection and household insurance.As a Protection Adviser at GMC we believe your skills and experience are best suited to focusing purely on the provision of quality advice and sales to our customers. You will be provided with all leads and have responsibility for your own diary managementfollowing a proven and established sales process. In addition, the progression of your protection applications is the sole remit of our dedicated Adviser Support Teams. We have therefore created the environment for you to perform at your very best and thisrole presents a fantastic opportunity for those candidates capable of delivering the results we expect.This is a telephone based role so you will be articulate and engaging. Our sizeable client bank presents an enormous protection sales opportunity so you will also be highly motivated, disciplined and organised, with a strong track record in telephone sales,ideally in a financial services environment.Your career is important to us. Our entire Sales Management team have progressedfrom Advisory roles.Required Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

  • Previous Sales/Customer Service experience in a financial setting.
  • Detail conscious with experience of working in an office based environment.
  • Motivated to meet and exceed personal targets and customer service standards.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, with outstanding telephone manner and strong listening skills.
  • Competent Microsoft Office user, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Clearly able to explain verbally and in written form the key features of our policies in benefit terms to ensure our customers understand and appreciate their value to them.
  • Adopts a flexible approach to work pressures and priorities to ensure team and individual objectives are met.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to develop relevant knowledge and applies this actively in the role.
  • Pays close attention to detail in all work activities to ensure mistakes are avoided and all standards are met.
  • Protection sales experience preferred but not essential
