Job Description

Our vision is the day when everyone lives free from kidney disease.We are recruiting a philanthropy manager to support our new strategy, develop high level relationships with new and existing donors and play a key role within the charity wide Transforming Treatment campaign. This external facing role will manage our mid tohigh value prospects and donors and you will build personal relationships though understanding donor motivations, delivering tailored communications and creating a bespoke donor journey.The Philanthropy and Partnerships Team works with Kidney Research UKs high value supporters, including individuals, ambassadors, trusts and partners. Our team also delivers inspiring events to fundraise, engage and cultivate new and existing donors. Our focusis on developing long term, strategic, value plus relationships with those who have significant capacity to financially support, influence, and open their networks to positively transform the lives of those affected by kidney disease.This is an exciting time to join the team as we grow and we are looking for experienced, motivated, and creative team members to join us.Philanthropy manager requirements: Experience of securing major gifts and working with high value stakeholders Experience of donor development and building a pipeline Knowledge of philanthropic motivations and current trends in philanthropy Experience of developing relationships to increase engagement and impact Understanding of supporter databases, data protection and fundraising best practice Experience of working collaboratively across an organisation to maximise opportunitiesAbout Us: Kidney Research UK are the leading charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK. Our vision is the day when everyone lives free from kidney disease. We fund research into all aspects of kidney disease - from understanding the condition, to how we can prevent and treat it. We want to discover better, kinder treatments. Research has given us life-saving kidney transplants, dialysis machines that filter the blood when the kidneys fail, and drugs to keep us going. But these treatments come at a cost. They can be gruelling, confining, relentless. A transplant is not a cure,they rarely last a lifetime. Kidney disease still affects three million people in the UK. And one million of those dont know they are at risk. Thats three million people who are someones parents, grandparents, children, friends. And kidney failure is rising, as are the factors contributing to it, such as diabetes and obesity. Thats why our work is more essential than ever. Research is what we do. It is the only way to discover future preventions, treatments and cures. It is vital to keep our loved ones safe. Your support is crucial to make this happen. The philanthropy manager position can either be homebased or based in Peterborough.
