Job Description

Paint prepper required to join a leading product finishing specialist inPeterboroughpaying£22,000 - £29,000per annum (D.O.E)on a40 hourper week on a permanent basisWe have a fantastic opportunity for a drivenpaint preparation technicianand polisher to join a leading specialist in product finishing, based in Peterborough. Using state of the art techniques and a flawless focus on detail, they are renowned for transformingordinary products and surfaces into a masterpiece!The successfulpaint preparation technicianwill be working on architectural installations, sculptures, furniture, and engineering equipment so if you are looking for somewhere to put your prepping skills to good use, stretch your imagination and alwaysbe working on something new, then this is your chance to get involved. This varied work environment accompanies a competitive salary and progression potential.They are looking for apaint preparation technicianwho is as flexible and diverse as their client base. You will join the spraying team and you will be part of an entire process from masking up, to final fitting. Sanding and de-nibbing in preparation forpainting will be a particular focus.Ideally, thepaint preparation technicianwill have worked in a similar role, have a keen eye for detail and be passionate about quality.Paint Preparation Technician Responsibilities:

  • Prepping parts to be painted
  • Sanding down panels using different grades of paper
  • Masking parts up ready for paint, prime and filling
  • Light repair work and polishing
  • Work within a small team and be conscientiously job-proud
  • Assist spray finishers
  • Prepare various furniture materials such as veneers / hardwood / MDF for spray finishing.
  • De-nibbing/fine sanding joinery products between spray coats
  • Staining products
  • Hand priming/painting as required
  • Working with the wider production team to ensure a seamless operation.
  • Health, safety & environmental compliance of all activities during finishing.
  • Maintenance of all plant & equipment used in association with the finishing process to ensure they remain fit for purpose and safe to use.
  • Reporting regularly on progress.
  • To assist in maintaining the working environment in a clean and safe condition.
  • Packaging & labelling
Key experience:
  • 2 years experience as apaint preparation technician
  • Disc abrading or orbital sanding
  • Preparing parts for high quality paint finish and understand methods of minimising contamination during preparation of surfaces to be painted
  • Forklift driver would be useful but not essential
Hours:07:30am -16:30pm, 40-hour week (overtime opportunity available)Salary:Between £22,000-29,000pa dependant on experiencePermanentExpenses paid if working Off-site
