Job Description

Job Title: Operational ManagerType of Business: Public SectorLocation: PeterboroughDaily Rate: £127.29 - £192.01 depending on experienceStart Date: ASAPLength of Contract: 3 monthsHours: 37.5GI Group are now seeking to appoint an Operational Manager to our public sector client based in Peterborough. The Operational Manager will deliver a professional, strategic HR service to the Medical Workforce across the organisation ensuring up to date expert,consistent advice, support and practice benefits all staff. They will support the Assistant Director of Medical Workforce in delivering the Medical Workforce agenda including job planning, appraisal and revalidation, workforce productivity and rota management.Main Duties of the Operational Manager:

  • To lead, direct, manage and advise on people management issues concerning the medical workforce, ensuring the climate is positive and to ensure that due consultation and negotiation takes place when required
  • Lead on the design, development, negotiation, and implementation and monitoring of all matters related to job planning, pay, contracts, recruitment, terms and conditions and training requirements for all medical staff employed by the organisation
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Medical Workforce to support the completion of all job plans for the consultant body and provide additional HR expertise to the Job Planning Consistency Committee, chaired by the Chief Medical officer
  • To maintain a regular programme of audits of the medical workforce Job Planning service to ensure continuous improvement
  • To work in partnership with senior management and finance, providing expertise to ensure appropriate allocation of medical resources in line with the organisations workforce plan
  • Ensure processes are in place for the smooth running of all medical rotas and on[1]call rotas
Role Criteria:
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent relevant experience
  • Extensive operational medical workforce experience
  • Experience working with national medical systems such as Allocate
  • Experience of developing standard operational processes and procedures
  • Experience of team supervision which includes the oversight of a variation of workloads
  • General knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
