Job Description

Job Title: Multi-Discipline Vocational TutorJob ID: 19659Salary: £26-29kLocation: PeterboroughJob Type: PermanentIndustry: EducationOne of the most recognised and leading Training Providers and currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Vocational Tutor who is passionate about developing and supporting our learners to fulfil their potential.The Vocational Tutor is responsible for the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment of Employability and Vocational studies. You are responsible for ensuring that Leaners have the knowledge required to complete substantive vocational-basedtraining up to level 2 that leads to positive outcomes including employment and further education.The successful candidate will have Cert Ed/PGCE/DTLLS or equivalent and have experience of teaching experience teaching Vocational-based qualifications (Warehouse, Catering, Retail, Customer Service, Construction)The role will be based in the Peterborough Training Centre.Responsibilities:

  • Coach, guide and support learners in the effective achievement of their Vocational Individual Learning Programme and progression planning in a classroom or work based environment.
  • Effectively interpret initial assessments and diagnostics to assess learners capability, suitability and their engagement to ensure timely achievements are met, including retention and achievement targets.
  • Negotiate, design and implement an Individual Learning Plan with each learner. Regularly assess, monitor, review, evaluate and adjust the Individual Learning Plan as necessary.
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to prepare and support employer-led Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
  • Support transition activities for learners moving to Apprenticeships or on to Further Education
Skills and ExperienceEssential
  • Cert Ed/PGCE/PTLLS or equivalent
  • L2 Functional Skills in English/Maths and ICT
  • Experience teaching Vocational-based qualifications (Warehouse, Catering, Retail, Customer Service, Construction)
  • Experience of working with adult learners in a training environment
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Driving licence and access to own car
Desirable
  • Achieved or working towards Level 4/5 subject specialist
  • An advanced vocational qualification of Level 4 or higher
  • Assessors qualification (CAVA, TAQA, D33)
  • An advanced qualification in Literacy or Numeracy
