Job Description

Marketing ExecutiveReporting to: HeadmasterSalary: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience (circa £25-35K)Function: Reporting directly to the Headmaster, the Marketing Executive is a pivotal role in the promotion and success of the School. The appointed person will provide dynamic and creative marketing, embracing digital content, in order to enhance the perceptionof the school and bolster recruitment, retention and partnerships. This is a full-time role, based on site at the School.Main Responsibilities

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
  • Supporting the Headmaster in promoting the aims of The Peterborough School.
  • Working with the Headmaster to write and implement the School’s Marketing Strategy, working to increase pupil numbers and links with the wider community. Includes managing the School’s calendar of Marketing Events.
  • Managing the Marketing budget.
  • Advising the Senior Leadership Team on School marketing activity and effectiveness. Marketing.
Marketing
  • Organising effective brand publicity and marketing of the School across all platforms, tasks including:
    • Promoting the School across all appropriate on and offline platforms
    • Arranging and promoting all marketing, advertising, and collateral requirements, including, for example, advertising campaigns, posters, internal branding and signage, annual School magazine, Alumni materials etc
    • Managing social media platforms, developing, and uploading content and analysing performance
    • Working with the School’s design agency to create relevant, engaging concepts and multichannel campaigns and assets
    • Arranging photography and videography, plus producing organic content for events and promotions for social channels
    • Creation of high-quality, well-written content for social channels
    • Writing of press releases and collating material for and editing the School’s weekly online newsletter

    • Communicating with local and, when appropriate, national media o Responsible for keeping the School’s website up to date using the Content Management System and working with the Hosting Agency
    • Managing, implementing, and analysing School surveys.
  • Attending and providing content for meetings as required. Acting as secretary to the Governors’ Marketing and Partnerships Sub-Committee.
  • Supporting the production of the annual School Magazine, working closely with the Headmaster and the Magazine Editor.
Events
  • Leading the promotion and organisation of marketing events
    • Arranging a series of Open Events, Entrance Examinations and Feeder School theme days
    • Working with the Head of Admissions to organise events, including producing briefing materials and briefing student tour guides
    • Working with the School Events Committee to review the management of events which involve multi-departmental involvement, advising on the appropriate schedule of events throughout the academic year.
    • Attend events outside of school such as parent meetings at feeder schools and educational or business exhibitions. (NB some weekend and evening work is required for these.)
Other Responsibilities
  • To develop and maintain partnerships with the local and wider community.
  • Support the wider Admissions team as required.

Requirements
  • Marketing qualification – essential
    • Degree – 2:1 or higher – desirable
  • Experience working in marketing – essential
  • Experience working in a school – desirable
  • Experience with website content management systems – essential
  • Experience in digital content and social media marketing – essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – essential
  • A passion for education – essential
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills – essential
