Job Description

Starting Salary £33,184Permanent37 Hours a week, see below for working hours/shift patternPeterborough Warehouse - Alwalton HillDiscover the company where you will make a difference!Were looking to recruit a Logistics LGV Driver to join our Warehouse in Peterborough. As an LGV driver within the Logistic Operational Team you will be responsible for safe transportation of Water Network material to and from our operational sites. Youwill work in support of AW operational teams, often supplying critical parts to fix problems in the regions Water Network.What you will be doing:

  • Completion of Daily Work Schedule and potential re-tasking during daily activity
  • Full compliance with internal Logistics safety procedures (Driving hours (Tachograph), 1st use checks, manual handling, dynamic risk assessments, safe systems of work, safe load/unload plans)
  • Recording collection /delivery using tablet based systems (Masternaut)
  • Assistance to the Warehouse if not tasked with driving (Material movements in the yard, picking in the warehouse)
  • Communicating directly with operational teams in Anglian water (regarding deliveries and emergency taskings)
  • Improving driving style in accordance with SAFED (safe and fuel-efficient driving)
  • Fulfilling periods of 12hr emergency cover (1hr ready to move and often at night) to drive critical materials to the point of need
Logistic drivers currently operate on 7-week rota:
  • 3 weeks are Mon-Fri 7:30-15:30 (normal working hours)
  • 1 week is Mon-Fri 11:30-19:30 (afternoon shift)
  • 2 weeks are normal workings hours, with 12hr duties (emergency cover) at the weekend (Days off to compensate on Mon/Fri)
  • 1 week is a Mon-Fri 12hr duty (19:00-07:00) for emergency/urgent tasks only

What does it take to be a Logistics LGV Driver
  • Class 2 Driving License (C+E)
  • Fully completed driver CPC
  • MOFFAT and HIAB training (Lifting equipment) is desirable
  • Flexibility to work different shift timings (on a planned rota)
  • Strong player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in all Anglian water operational sites
  • Ability to work as collaboratively part of a team as well as show initiative when working alone
  • Basic IT/tablet aptitude including using Outlook, Sharepoint and Delivery Software (Masternaut)
  • Ability to embrace change and positively deal with often conflicting priorities
