Job Description

Role: Lead Site EngineerLocation: Located in or around Peterborough - National TravelBenefits: Up to £45kpa / 34 holidays / VanWe have an exciting new role within our Engineering Site Team as a Mechanical Site lead Engineer to facilitate the engineering activities that take place on a day-to-day basis on various work sites and ensure the successful completion of the contract underyour supervision.Ensuring activities undertaken on sites are carried out to the highest practicable safety standards and delivered to programme support the demands of the growing business in liquid and powder process solution equipment, consumable supplier to the food, beverage,brewery, bakery, dairy, and utility industries throughout the UK.Qualifications / Experience

  • Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Engineering experience including a supervisory role managing people.
  • Working knowledge of HS&E procedures (IOSH)
  • Must have experience within the food, beverage, brewery, bakery, dairy, and utility industries
  • Must hold UK driving licence.
Main duties
  • To ensure that permits are received and completed in accordance with site rules and regulations.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes and variations, subcontractors attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client.
  • To maintain records of time and expenditure on site
  • Ensure that plant, equipment, and vehicle inspections are carried out, and defects are reported immediately.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings.
Skills
  • Strong people management and communications experience.
  • A multi skilled background. Strong time management skills and organisation skills
  • Experience of planned installations and small activities.
  • Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training.
  • Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Professional attitude with plenty of drive and enthusiasm.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of installing equipment in food, beverage, brewery, bakery, dairy and utility industries. Able and willing to work for extended periods of time.
  • Customer focussed with excellent communication skills and a successful track record of developing customer relationships.
