Job Description

Role – Lead site EngineerType – Temp to perm (12-month contract)Location – PeterboroughRate – £40,000 to £45,000 dependant on experienceBenefits – Company vehicle (business use)Day to day activities –

  • Attending site carrying out site surveys & quotations for site Installations & remedial work.
  • Maintain primary contact and a good working relationship with client and operations personnel, as well as sub-contractors and site representatives who are engaged by the Client.
  • Monitor and instruct direct and subcontractor workforce, identifying training requirements and ensuring only trained, competent and authorised persons are completing assigned tasks and operating equipment/ plant.
  • Ensure that all Company/Customer HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded.
  • Ensure delivery of briefings including start of shift, method statements, risk assessments and regular toolbox talks covering appropriate health, safety and environmental issues are recorded and understood by your teams.
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of all personnel working on the site.
  • To ensure that permits are received and completed in accordance with site rules/regulations
  • To maintain records of time and expenditure on site
  • Ensure that plant, equipment and vehicle inspections are carried out, and defects are reported immediately.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings.
Essentials –
  • Strong people management experience.
  • Experience of planned installations and small activities.
  • Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training.
  • Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of installing equipment in food, beverage, brewery, bakery, dairy and utility industries
  • Customer focussed with excellent communication skills and a successful track record of developing customer relationships.
  • A full, valid driving licence.
