Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities Job Title: IT Operations Business Administrator ApprenticeLocation: Peterborough (3 - 4 days per week in the office with some flexibility)Do you have some experience or an interest in administration and looking for support to study a Level 3 Business Admin qualification If so this could be the perfect opportunity to learn, train and study whilst gaining experience in a varied role with fullfinancial support and time to study within your working week including external learning at a local college.This great opportunity sits within our AB Agri IT Operations team who supports the day to day activities of many IT users across our sites in the UK and overseas.The IT Operations Administrator Apprentice will be given the opportunity to learn about allaspects of administration to support the efforts across the IT Operations Teams. In this varied role you will gain exposure to many aspects of purchasing, stock management, finance, reporting and some project work to improve internal processes. If you are an organised person who enjoys multi-tasking, administration and improving ways of working with excellent communication and customer service skills we want to hear from you! What youll be doing:

  • Raising purchase orders with suppliers for hardware, mobile telephony provision and software.
  • Tracking open orders and recording deliveries, ensuring that they are correct.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining performance statistics in terms of price and promised delivery dates.
  • Responding to status enquiries about order progress.
  • Completing IT asset register details to ensure accurate records are kept.
  • Organising couriers for despatch and collection of IT assets where required.
  • Keeping records of and report on stock levels of key IT equipment.
  • Analysing mobile device usage reports, checking for anomalies and assisting the Service Manager with taking action where they are found.
  • Ensuring IT contracts are properly recorded in the AB Agri Contract Management System.
  • Using 3rd party portals where required for ordering and status enquiries.
  • Routine processing of invoices ensuring that anomalies are brought to the relevant managers attention
  • Updating IT Operations cost records
  • Producing reporting packs as required by co-ordinating information from various systems.
What youll bring:
  • Great organisation skills with akeen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  • You will have a willingness to acquire new skills and learn about the business and team
  • Self motivated and self disciplined
  • Tenacious and keen to take on project work where required (successfully completing a project is part of the apprenticeship scheme)
  • GCSE pass (4 or higher/C+) in English and Mathematics is an essential requirement to complete the apprenticeship
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues across different departments
  • Comfortable using Microsoft desktop applications - Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Please note, the apprenticeship will only be open to applicants who can demonstrate that it will add substantive new learning in business administration. Those with qualifications in business administration (or similar) at Level 3 or above will not be eligible.
