Your base location will either be in Peterborough or Huntingdon with travel to sites in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.Unique opportunity to develop industry-leading billion pound+ reservoir projects!Anglian Water is developing three strategic resource options (SROs): South Lincolnshire Reservoir (SLR) and the Anglian to Affinity transfer (A2AT) which are being developed jointly with Affinity Water; and the Fens Reservoir (FR) which is being jointlydeveloped with Cambridge Water.Together these represent significant multi-billion pound investments in reservoirs, transfer systems and water treatment plants. They are being developed under the RAPID regulatory guidance/gateway process during AMP7 (2020-25) so that they are ready tocommence construction during AMP8 (2025-2030) and provide water into supply in AMP9/10 period (i.e. by the late 2030s)Both reservoirs are Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) and will go down the Development Consent Order (DCO) planning route. They will be starting the pre-application phase Autumn 2022 with an estimated DCO application submission dateof 2025.The role is focused for the successful management of the geotechnical approach on the SROs and will report directly to the Head of Engineering & Design. Responsibilities will include the immediate development and management of the geotechnical strategy -including the ground investigation approach, geotechnical basis of design, geotechnical risk management, geotechnical resource management and implementing suitable design solutions.Candidates are expected to have direct experience in leading the geotechnical design on large capital programmes, including all necessary field survey work and the creation of associated reports to support the production and submission of technical designand planning documentation. Proven client liaison skills, particularly in relation to technical input and quality control, are also important attributes.Candidates are expected to be familiar with the UK site geotechnical investigation techniques and practices. They should be able to understand and interpret soils and rock technical information, be familiar with the requirements of Eurocode 7 as a basisfor the preparation of geotechnical designs - including but not limited to structure foundations, HDD crossings, pipe design, tunnelling, temporary works, ground water management and risk management.
