Finance ManagerPeterboroughSalary £35,000 Our client has been established since 1978, and as a family-run business that has continued to maintain its integrity within its market space, it is now seeking a Finance Manager.Managing a team of one, the Finance Manager will oversee the companys financial operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, and theability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.Responsibilities but not limited to * Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of transactions and resolve any discrepancies.* Manage the purchase ledger, ensuring invoices are posted and paid accurately and in a timely manner.* Directly handle customer enquiries and payments to reduce risk to the debtors ledger.* Process payroll, including pension contributions and statutory payments.* Perform month-end transactions, including processing prepayments, depreciation, and accruals.* Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data.* Manage fixed assets, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.* Produce monthly management accounts and provide insightful commentary to aid decision-making.* Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets to ensure financial targets are met.* Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with relevant regulations.* Act as a valuable member of the management team, providing financial insights and recommendations.* Oversee and support one member of staff, providing guidance and coaching as necessary.* Review existing systems and processes and identify areas for improvement, implementing changes when required.* Undertake other ad-hoc duties as assigned by senior management.Skills & Competencies* Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal* Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills* Pegasus Opera and XRL experience preferable* Able to meet deadlines* Attention to detail* Good organisational skills* Able to plan and prioritise workloadExperience and Qualifications* 3-5 years experience in a similar role* Able to work autonomously* AAT Qualified (or CIMA / ACA / ACCA Part Qualified)Please apply now for an informal conversation.
