Job Description

Job SpecificationFor: Finance Business PartnerMeyer Scott Ref: VR/08295Pay Rate: circa £45,000 per annum - dependent on experienceLocation: Yaxley, PeterboroughOur client is a leading UK manufacturer within their field. . They supply several leading national distributors, main contractors and end users in the UK as well as being specified on projects in all major construction sectors.They are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their busy team.Summary

  • Supporting the business through the provision of high quality, timely and insightful performance and overhead reporting which facilitates informed decision making.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to add value and insight into performance.
  • Ensuring the integrity of general ledger and business controls.

Primary Responsibilities
  • To produce timely and reliable management information reports on a monthly basis
  • To produce and develop value-added monthly management accounting reporting information and commentary
  • To investigate variances against budgets and provide analysis of differences
  • To develop close working relations with management to assist with daily operations and strategic decision making
  • Monitor and challenge KPIs to drive manufacturing performance and stock control / management
  • To assist with budgeting and forecasting process and financial support to commercial and operational teams
  • To prepare timely and accurate year-end financial information to assist the auditors with the year-end process
  • Dig right under what we are doing and check cost analysis scrutinising our pricing, margins, labour and production so we can truly see where we can improve or perhaps on the flip side should invest
  • Getting hands on with stock and inventory management & analysis. Periodically involved in physical stock checks, to ensure the processes are slick and effective, making any improvement suggestions as needed
  • Perform all VAT related reporting
  • Make sure the integrity of the general ledger is correct and producing detailed balance sheet reconciliations ensuring any risks are identified and mitigated on a timely basis. Ensuring robustness and completeness of financial records.
  • Processing bank payments and cash flow management
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Ensure documentation and procedures are continually maintained
Requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing sector preferred
  • Experienced Management Accountant with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and organise a demanding workload
  • You will need to be able to engage, interact and influence stakeholders including non-financial colleagues
  • Be an advanced user of Excel and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Show commercial insight/acumen, providing recommendations for action
  • Continuously strive to achieve results and look for improvements.
