Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities Job Title: Finance AssistantLocation: Hybrid - Peterborough, 2 days per week in the officeAre you an AAT studier or an emerging Accounts Assistant looking for an opportunity to expand your finance experience This is a great opportunity to join our central management accounts team in a varied role dealing with all aspects of balance sheet reconciliations,bank reconciliations and credit card statements whilst also assisting with some budget and forecasting processes and gaining exposure to management accounts. If you love numbers, have great attention to detail and want to progress in a collaborative and supportive team, this could be your ideal next move! What youll be doing:

  • Reconciliation of Central balance sheet accounts
  • Support the team with general ledger postings, monthly reporting and the budget and forecast processes
  • Posting journals, adjustments, accruals and prepayments
  • Reconciliation of the intercompany loan accounts and settlement accounts; following up any queries with ABF, British Sugar and other ABF divisions
  • Responsibility for the intercompany call accounts, including posting all relevant journals and reconciliation each period end
  • Reconcile company credit card statement on a monthly basis
  • Investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies and queries
What youll bring:
  • Previous accounting experience across balance sheet and bank reconciliations with ideally some overall management accounts understanding and exposure
  • This would suit an AAT studier or someone who is starting to study their ACCA or CIMA, however qualifications are not essential for this role
  • Attention to detail with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders and other internal departments across the group
