Job Description

Field Service Technician - Peterborough12 Month contract initially - extensions are highly likelyAre you an experienced Field Service Technician, or perhaps youre an experienced mechanic who would like an opportunity to get out into the fieldOur client is looking for a Field Service Technician to work on servicing diesel engines and associated off-highway machinery in range of settings and environments.This is a customer facing product support role, where you will be assisting with the identification, diagnosis, communication and resolution of engine quality and performance related issues.You would need to be good at building strong customer relationships, to promote and present a professional image.What would you do

  • Plan and conduct field visits on identified machines, assisting dealers and OEMs with complex fault diagnosis
  • Provide dealer training and assessment based on field engineering expertise in conjunction with ongoing product support initiatives
  • Support helpdesk analysts with resolution of field queries raised through the technical helpdesk
  • Perform advanced failure analysis, either independently or in conjunction with dealer personnel as required
  • Conduct all work practices in line with company health and safety policies
What are we looking for
  • Demonstrable experience in diesel engine/off highway vehicle maintenance
  • Someone who is able to travel frequently both in the UK and abroad
  • Ideally some good relevant qualifications, either academic or gained through training by other OEMs
