Job Description

Interim Facilities, Estate & Property Manager, 6 months fixed term contract, Salary: up to £60k + car & benefits, Based: Peterborough with national travelWe have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities, Estate and Property Manager (Industrial / commercial) to work for a leading global business in the construction sector. This role will lead and manage the estate & facilities activities associated with thecompany properties including building maintenance, property inspections, surveys, set up of new depots, lease renewals and negotiations, across the UK. Responsible for managing a portfolio/budget of circa £9 million, the Facilities, Estate & Property Managerwill ensure sites remain a legal, compliant, and a pro-actively safe place to operate, monitor or guard.The ideal candidate will have Extensive experience in a key property manager / estates manager / facilities manager role.Main tasks:

  • Lead & managing the estate & facilities activities associated with company properties including building maintenance, property inspections, surveys, set up of new depots, lease renewals and negotiations.
  • Ensuring all sites locations operate within and are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Managing a sizeable property portfolio and budget
  • Collaborating across the organization with key stakeholders, including external 3rd party providers, to maximize the effectiveness of our operations
  • Leading the development of the property portfolio in line with budget, growth, cost aspirations and overall property strategy
  • Dealing with property queries relating to Rent/Business Rates and exit dates with both internal and external customers.
  • Identifying location of new potential depots, as required. Set up of new depots from ground upwards including all services.
  • Assessing the value add of any external agencies and ensure all arrangements are fit for purpose for delivery and cost.
  • Carrying out property inspections & dilapidations inspections. Advising finance of adequacy of dilapidations provisions
  • Ensuring timely action on break notices, rent reviews and site exits
  • Managing and developing estate buildings and infrastructure to ensure the protection of all occupants
  • Managing the performance of contractors working on all property related matters
Candidate requirements:
  • Extensive experience in a key property manager / estates manager / facilities manager role.
  • Experience of managing multiple sites
  • Detailed knowledge of soft and hard services.
  • Experience of handling 3rd party advisors and consultants and managing resultant service and costs.
  • Familiarity with leases, sale, site drawings, subcontractor and tender processes.
  • Is highly motivated in developing and implementing property strategy
  • Is skilled at project management and articulating strategy & its implementation to all levels in the organisation
