Job Description

Domestic ElectricianPeterboroughSalary NegotiableWorkshop Recruitment have a new exciting opportunity for an experience Electrician to work for a very respected client of ours based in Peterborough, a NICEIC approved contractor of over 20 years, carrying out all aspects of electrical servicing and installation works throughout the UK.The successful Electrician will be working within the Social Housing Sector across Peterborough.Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring
  • Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts
  • Conduct routine maintenance and testing on domestic electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards, including in fire alarms and security systems
  • Rewire faulty electrical systems, such as lighting, heating systems, and alarms
  • Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction
  • Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions
  • Provide professional assessments and advice for customers
  • Working hours – 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm with a daily 1 hour paid lunch.
    • The Candidate:
  • NVQ Level 2 & 3 or equivalent
  • 18th edition (essential but could look at 17th edition as company can update you)
  • 2391 test and inspection (essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Good Communication skills
  • At least 2 years’ experience working for Social Housing Contractor or Local Authority on domestic electrical repairs contracts (desirable)
    • Package:
  • £16ph
  • Van/ fuel card- Vehicle – VW Caddy or Peugeot Partner.
  • 22 days holiday + 8 bank Holidays
  • Travel Time - we pay travel time apart from up to 1 hour on the travel to the first job and up to 1 hour on travel after the last job. Basically the journey to work and home (normal commute). Over 1 hour of travel to work and home we do pay and in between jobs during the day.
  • Pension – 8% in total – contributions split between 5% employee and 3% employer.
  • IT Equipment – a tablet and work mobile is supplied at induction.
  • Uniform - we supply branded shirts and PPE at induction.
