Job Description

My client is a leading online specialist in sports and luxury eyewear and is currently seeking an experienced Dispensing Optician to join their team.This is a great opportunity to be part of a small and ambitious business and to collaborate with some of the leading brands in the industry.You may be looking to move away from retail, or you may simply be looking for a change This could be it! Working hours are Monday to Friday and can be flexible to suit the individual (i.e. 9am - 2pm, 10am - 3pm, or full time 8.30am - 5pm).Experience in optics is a must, either as a dispensing optician or practice manager. Knowledge and enthusiasm for sports eyewear and specialty products will also be key to your success.The successful applicant will be responsible for three optical assistants, whilst working alongside an experienced sports vision specialist dispensing optician.The Job - Dispensing Optician/Practice Manager:

  • Prescription lens ordering.
  • Optical advice - including specialist sporting and other complex lens solutions.
  • Dealing with visual concerns.
  • Resolving lab queries.
  • Lens fitting and optical checking.
  • Curating ranges and setting prices.
  • Assisting with specialist prescription content online.
  • Training and supporting the optical customer service team.
The Individual:
  • Experience within optics - either as a dispensing optician or practice manager.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communications skills - both verbal and written.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Proactive and independent working approach.
  • Strong IT skills.
