Job Description

The key day-to-day tasks of the Outbound Manager include:

  • Manage all sales order from receipt all the way to goods issue
  • orders received from the customer (fax, email, edi)
  • order put onto SAP
  • check there is sufficient stock on hand or planned to meet sales order at input
  • order sent to 3PL
  • confirm 3PL can deliver the order are ordered
  • Check 3PLs dispatch report or POD to check that stock has been delivered as ordered
  • Post goods issue on SAP
  • any issues or changes with sales orders work closely with key stakeholders to deliver all orders OTIF and make sure we communicate with customers and key stakeholders in a timely manner and SAP is kept up to date at all times.
  • Work closely with warehouse teams on each site to make sure 3PLs collect stock when required to meet customer order and site stock holding targets
  • Manage stock transport orders from site to 3PL, make sure that all stock transport orders match what the 3PL say is received and manage any discrepancies with key stakeholders to maintain stock accuracy at 3Pl and on SAP at all times.
  • Stock management, daily checks that stock on SAP matches stock on 3PL systems.
  • weekly report on all stock life, highlighting any stock items at risk either slow moving, blow MLID or close to MLID, drive actions with key stakeholder to limit risk to the business on these items.
  • Manage outbound deliveries on each site and that the number of pallets per hr and day are adhered to.
  • Manage export orders and supporting paperwork.
  • Manage the pallet pool process, working with Inbound and warehouse teams to reconcile physical stocks vs pallet pool supplier stocks and work with the pallet pool provider on any issues.
  • Prepare information for daily, weekly and monthly meetings and report on KPIs
  • Measure performance of 3Pls and logistics providers
  • Deputise for the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager when required.
