Job Description

Our vision is to continue to deliver #smart #modern #law and to embrace anddevelop our employees through their legal finance career.We are seeking a Compliance Cashier Manager to work closely with a highly inspiring Head Cashier and COFA supporting and ensuring the firm is compliant with the SRA Accounts Rules undertaking a leading role in driving best practice across the firm. You will build relationships with fee earners and heads of department and challenge some key processes and decisions to ensure the firm are compliant. Adegree of tenacity and assertiveness will be required as we continue our ambitious plans for growth. AILFM or FILFM qualifications would be advantageous but certainly a proven background in a similar legal finance role is essential. We are happy to offer this position either from Peterborough or London, with hybrid working available. Thisis a hands on role so you will be involved in the day to day tasks of the role.This role involves but is not limited to:

  • SRA accounts rules compliance and process monitoring
  • Arranging the annual SAR audit and liaising with auditors
  • Provide management information including analysis and recommendations on key compliance areas such as:
o Client receipt portalso Office to client transferso Residual balanceso Charity ledger transfers and balances
  • Support the management of residual balances across the Firm to keep them to a minimum and ensure they are dealt with quickly and correctly
  • Responsibility for the Charity Ledger ensuring funds transferred in are compliant with the SRA Account Rules and payments to charities are made in a timely manner
  • Maintain and monitor the Breach Register ensuring corrective action is taken to rectify any breach and that controls are amended to prevent repeat offences
  • Work with fee earners to close and archive old files
  • Training of staff on accounts rules and other SRA matters in conjunction with firm’s legal training manager
  • Support the maintenance of the Firms policies and procedures in line with the SRA Accounts Rules
Requirements:
  • Strong legal background and experience
  • AILFM or FILFM qualifications would be advantageous
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Able to manage multiple relationships
  • Professional approach
  • Strong understanding of the Regulatory framewor
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines in busy periods
