Job Description

The role....We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Clerk of Works to join a busy and friendly team.This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience within a similar role and is confident in providing pre-contract and post contract Clerk of Works Services on projects up to a value of £25m whilst ensuring the quality of new dwellings are to the standard required by the organisation.Depending on performance and competence we will support the successful candidate in gaining a NVQ Diploma along with structured career progression leading to Membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate (MICWCI).Who we are....Cross Keys Homes is a commercial business with a social heart.   • Highly knowledgeable in the following areas:
  • Building regulations and NHBC requirements. Affordable sector housing standards, New build constructions methods including those used by large Housing Developers.
  • Effective customer care processes and methods of achieving them.
  • Experience of collating all relevant contractual documentation from the contractor (NICEIC, Gas Safe etc.)
  • Monitoring and reporting quality of materials and workmanship on new build housing schemes.
  • Experience of attending monthly site meetings
  • Ability to providing written progress and inspection reports.
  • Knowledge of domestic and commercial mechanical and electrical design and installation
  • Experience of working on Social Housing new build projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (reports and instructions)
  • Strong people management skills working with clients/Site agents and QS.
  • Ability to interpret detailed requirements of drawings and specifications and ensure these are met and followed on site.
  • The ability to ensure all health and safety legislation is met in accordance with the CDM requirements on site and report any discrepancies to the project manager/QS as necessary.
  • Ability to liaise with contractors and resolve technical queries, problems which may arise on site.
  • Experience of conducting spot checks on installations.
  • Able to report on quality and progress at monthly site meetings as necessary
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A flexible attitude which is able to respond to the needs of the business.
  • Candidates must demonstrate understanding of, acceptance and commitment to the principals underlying equal opportunities.
  • Proven and extensive Customer Service skills and a pro-active attitude to a quality delivery provision
  • Licentiate Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate or demonstrable experience
