Job Description

Catering Manager - PeterboroughUp to £29,330 per annum (DOE)Current operation requires Manager on site 5 over 7 days (inc. weekends) however, this is likely to move to Monday to Friday.We currently have a really exciting opportunity for a Catering Manager to join our site in Peterborough. This site offers a 7 day food service including breakfast, lunch and evening meal repeated through the nightalong with Vending. As a Catering Manager, you will enjoy getting the best out of people, you draw satisfaction from managing, training and supporting your team of 25 employees with 8 direct reports. You will be providing a professional catering service, ensuring that companystandards are maintained and that Client expectations are met. As the Catering Manager you will required to ensure that your location achieves the financial targets agreed with the client in line with your site budget. You will also be required to monitorthe work of all the staff and carry out appraisals, recognise training needs and potential as appropriate. You will be holding team meetings on a regular basis to communicate targets and achievements. Making sure we are meeting the standards required by theclient. As a team you will ensure that customers are given a prompt and efficient service and that their food service and value expectations are consistently exceeded. Making sure all Food Safety, Health and Safety and Risk Assessments are conducted to ensurethat all standards and procedures in respect of Food, Hygiene and Safety are established and maintained. The Catering Manager, is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the restaurant, retail and hospitality onsite, ordering of food and supplies, and ensure that customers are satisfied with their experience. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • To manage & deliver KPI’s effectively each month.
  • To manage relationships with both direct & indirect clients.
  • Understand and deliver all contractual terms
  • Ensure weekly meetings are held & action plans are completed
  • Ensure all company promotions are correctly implemented
  • Monitor and manage GP
  • Ensure cost and sales records are accurately inputted and maintained & all food wastage is recorded and minimised
  • Complete labour schedule within the labour budget, effectively minimising any agency and overtime spend.
  • Ensure all costs are managed effectively within budget
  • To make sure you and all staff are aware of, and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, safety, health and hygiene
  • To report health and safety issues, including all accidents and near misses
  • To promote good safety habits and methods of work
  • To ensure all displays, counters and seating areas comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements
  • To ensure the unit is clean in all work areas during and after service times
About you:
  • Minimum 2 years catering experience as a Catering Manager
  • Previous culinary experience essential.
  • Proven experience in managing successful teams in a similar environment
  • Ability to manage team and client.
  • Good communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with dual clients
  • Takes pride in the appearance of their workplace.
  • Team player and can-do attitude, always willing to help where needed.
  • Strong compliance and health and safety knowledge required.
  • Excellent financial acumen
  • I.T literate
