Job Description

To provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to customers, understanding their needs and requirementsProvide advice/assistance to ensure the customer receives a prompt service within comfortable surroundingsProvide, prepare and deliver quality food and beveragesEnsure products, equipment and furniture are cleaned, maintained and fit for purpose reporting breakages promptlyUndertake cleaning duties within the catering facilityOperating the Till SystemEnd of day cashing up routinesRecording daily takingsStock ControlTo demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards customers and other team members, recognising the importance and benefits of effective team workingTo deliver customer service in line with best practice. Ensure compliance to relevant policiesTo take responsibility for product area, ensure this and product is maintained in line with company best practice and Health & Safety legislationTo display and promote products efficiently and effectively in order to maximise salesTo prepare and cook hot food to customer and visitorsTo actively follow company policies - Food Hygiene, Equal Opportunities; Fire Health & SafetyTo maintain a good level of personal presentationTo attend staff meetings and training as requiredTo monitor stock levels and prepare orders for processing and approval through the Duty Manager, allowing for timely deliveriesTo maintain accurate records as directed, to include financials and customer statistics for performance and budgetary controlTo maintain housekeeping standards:On a daily basis:Ensure the Catering area is clean and tidy at all times, with furniture, tables, window sills and shelving dusted regularly and spillages immediately wiped awayPrepare, cook and serve hot food and drinkEnsure all servery bins are emptied, liners are tied securely before depositing contents in the external waste bin and liners replacedSinks to be cleaned and floors mopedStart and end of day routines to be adhered to, with particular attention paid to coffee machine, griddle, oil changes, fryer, bainmarie plus standards as defined in the safety log book:On a daily basis:Thoroughly wipe down and polish all kitchen machinesOn an ongoing basis:Wash out and thoroughly clean all fridges, freezer, coffee machine and dishwasherOn an adhoc basis:Liaise with the Manager to review and make any changes to the menuWorking within a catering environmentWorking within a busy customer facing environmentWorking knowledge of till systemsStock taking - to monitor stock levels and placing orders when necessaryGCSE or equivalent in English and MathsFood safety catering level 2 or aboveGood communication skills - to liaise with customers and colleagues at all levelsGood interpersonal and customer facing skills - remaining professional, patient, friendly, polite at times of pressureAbility to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision, whilst knowing when to seek advice from manager - flexible, multi-taskingAbility to stand for long periods of time with a good level of physical fitnessConfidentiality and discretion, with an awareness of Data Protection ActSalary: From £10.42 per hourExpected hours: 12 per weekPlease note that no terminology in this advert is intended to discriminate on the grounds of a persons gender, marital status, race, religion, colour, age, disability or sexual orientation.
