Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities Job Title: Category ManagerCapital & Indirect ProcurementLocation: Peterborough UK, Hybrid with some UK travelContract and Shift details: PermanentMondayFriday 37.5hrs per weekHave you got experience of managing indirect procurement categories and capital expenditure If so, we have an opportunity for you!You will have responsibility for delivering effective procurement and targeted savings within your set categories ensuring they are managed from a contractual risk and delivery perspective. You will be a key part of the embedding of procurement in the capitalinvestment projects working with internal and external teams looking at opportunities to bring in scale and consistency to decisions made on spend.Other opportunities and responsibilities will involve:

  • Developing a strategic approach with use of best practice and tools
  • Working collaboratively with wider AB Agri and ABF groups to identify opportunities for wide value add
  • Use of eSourcing tools to increase value and transparency of tendering process and documentation of contracts
  • Working closely with ABF legal team to ensure agreements where appropriate meet compliance and minimise any potential risks
  • Cost savings by scale and consistency which could positively impact overall business financials
This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to use their experience to take ownership of these categories, bring in change, cost savings, opportunities for best practice and possible improvements into a well established supportive team.To be successful in this role some of the knowledge, skills and experience we are looking for:
  • Experience of Indirect Category Management ideally with experience of Capital Category Management.
  • CIPS qualified is desired but not essential based on experience.
  • Experience gained in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Supply Chain environment.
  • Experience of using eSourcing tools e.g Scanmarket or similar
  • Comfortable with working with legal agreements and documents
Location For this role we are looking for someone who can work on a Hybrid approach ideally 1-2 days a week from our Peterborough office but also travel on occasion to meet your stakeholders at our sites across the UK.
