Job Description

Our client, a property management company, is looking for a Caretaker to provide support to residents in their apartments in PeterboroughResponsibilities will include:• To undertake each morning a visual inspection of the fabric of the building to include any items hanging from the building, loose panels, broken windows and damages to the exterior.• A visual inspection of the interior common parts to include accessing any damage caused to wall/doors during move ins, to attend any spot cleans (muddy footprints or spillages).• Walk the common areas of the building and undertake a visual inspection 4 times a day to include all access routes to ensure no breaches of security.• Change any light bulbs in the common areas as required.• Attend to any minor plumbing works (not gas related) that may have been reported by residents such as tightening under sinks, bath overflows and minor leaks.• Attend to any decorating work as required.• Undertake weekly fire alarm call point tests.• Monthly emergency lighting test for the common areas.• Undertake a monthly review of all common area fire exits to ensure the correct operation of the doors and door fittings (hinges, push bars and closers).• Undertake 2 daily visual security inspections of the car park areas.• Inspect the refuse area and sweep as necessary and rotate refuse bins.• Distribute post in the post boxes and parcels the same day as delivered.• Sign in any Contractors attending site and issue permit to work.• Ensure the building adheres to the requirements of the Health & Safety policy including fire risk assessment.To be successful in the role you should:-

  • Be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Have excellent customer facing skills
  • Have a flexible approach towards the working day
  • Have previous experience in a similar role
  • Have good DIY experience (essential)
  • A flexible attitude willing to go the extra mile
  • Hours of work are 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
