You will take a senior role in the technical and commercial delivery of river engineering, canal restoration, fish pass design, drainage, environmental improvement and flood risk management projects for clients in major public and private sector organisations With a passion for delighting our clients you will ensure that our engineering solutions meet their needs and exceed their expectations feeding in ideas to improve and enhance our market leading designs. With excellent communication skills, you will have a genuine interest in finding creative and innovative ideas and the hunger to extend your own skills and knowledge in the flood risk sector.Responsibilities:Operational and Technical Leadership

  • Develop and review delivery strategies at bid stage
  • Ensure the project is delivered to cost, quality and time requirements
  • Ensure the adoption of best-practice project management tools, processes and techniques
  • Ensure that project risks are identified, documented and managed, including monthly reviews of projects and project portfolios
  • Audit of compliance with safety, health, environment quality (SHEQ) requirements and of remedial actions
  • Promote global delivery, innovation, value management, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and sustainable solutions

  • Build and maintain relationships of trust with key client personnel
  • Obtain and act on client feedback and survey results
    • People Leadership
  • Provide overall leadership to the project team
  • Ensure the compliance with business integrity policies within Jacobs partners and the supply chain
  • Monitor and enhance satisfaction of staff in the project team
  • Act as a role model for collaborative working with other project directors and senior managers
  • Mentor project managers and others in developing their careers in project management/leadership
    • Commercial Leadership
  • Manage project profitability, capital employed and cash flow
  • Minimise risks wherever possible
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and assets to deliver the project
    • Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Experience of successfully directing multi-million pound projects
  • Knowledge and experience of structured project management methodologies
  • Client relationship management experience at a senior, strategic level
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Chartered with ICE or CIWEM
  • Demonstrable knowledge of developing client relationships to develop new opportunities
  • Extensive experience of quality assurance and technical leadership
  • Experienced in solution development and ability to develop, price and agree scope of services plus leading and winning tender opportunities
  • Highly experienced in writing and reviewing technical reports and adept in conveying key messages in a simple and clear manner from complex technical documentation
  • Highly effective mentoring and training skills to develop and support junior staff.
