Our client based in Peterborough is seeking a time served Assembly Fitter to join them on a permanent full time basis working 7.30am-4.00pm Monday to Friday. During busy period, you will be required to work different shifts to meet demand and overtime andshift allowances will be available in addition.As an Assembly Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly of machinery components, testing of machinery, building compressors, gearbox assembly and much more. You will be a time served Engineer or will have a relevant mechanical qualification as wellas relevant assembly experience.Working as part of a team, you will understand customer requirements, ensuring health & safety regulations and compliance, agree annual improvement targets, develop and implement progression trackers against objectives, ensuring machinery and equipment is properlymaintained, sharing continuous improvement & best practice principles.To be considered for this Assembly Fitter position, you will have strong manufacturing and engineering knowledge and a good understanding of Six Sigma, Kaizen & Lean. You will have strong literacy and numeracy skills and will be an effective problem solver.You will also be able to read complex method statements, engineering drawings, etc.You position will mainly be based in Peterborough but from time to time there could be some national and international travel as part of the role.
