Job Description

Role – Applications/ Estimating Engineer Type – Temp to perm (12-month contract)Location – PeterboroughRate – £32,500 to £35,000 dependant on experienceDay to day activities –

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates of all plant and process elements and assemble them into a total project costing spreadsheet, for major and minor capital plant and process equipment, modifications and upgrades, spares, and services etc.
  • Prepare project costings by analysing 2D drawings/3D models, product specifications, scope, basis of design, and other project information/ documentation as input.
  • To assess the client’s information/ documentation to develop a process flow and P&ID drawing/s, which would form the basis for our proposals.
  • Support the evaluation of historical company data, including purchase orders, subcontracts, engineering productivity reports and incorporate relevant data into company unit costs, materials, and labour factors.
  • Assist the sales team in the creation of quotations, proposals, and/or RFQ responses in line with customer and sales requests.
  • Create and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure effective information gathering and exchange throughout pre-sales processes.
  • Liaise with suppliers where necessary to obtain price, availability, and product information in a timely manner.
  • Develop knowledge and experience of bespoke process line manufacture and production process systems.
Essentials –
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet tools to create and develop cost estimates bespoke to the business needs.
  • Able to interpret 2D manufacturing drawings and manipulate 3D solid models to gather information for costing purposes.
  • Knowledge of the products, processes, and regulations related to the food, beverage, brewery, bakery, dairy, and utility industries.
  • Familiarity with different types of equipment used in the above industries, and their associated costs.
  • Understanding of the supply chain, logistics, and procurement processes involved in the above industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address cost, quality, and safety issues.
