Job Description

The One Group are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join an award winning business and busy team of 8, in Peterborough on a full time, 6 month contract.This role will see you working Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm, from their offices in central Peterborough working closely with the Finance Operations Manager and Senior Cashier. Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of the purchase ledger
  • Raising payments (cheques, BACS and CHAPS), posting receipts & reconciling the bank accounts
  • Posting financial transactions to the accounting systems including fee and disbursement, invoices, and transfers of client money
  • Administering the firms expenses system including checking and posting staff claims
  • Maintain incoming cheque log
  • Maintain petty cash accounting records
  • Receiving card payments from clients
  • End of day reconciliation and checking of balances
Requirements:
  • Relevant accounts experience
  • Available to start at short notice
  • Experience within a legal environment - not essential
  • Strong Excel skills
