Job Description

3D (SOLIDWORKS) TECHNICIANOur well established privately run engineering client continues to go from strength to strength and due to their success they require an additional 3D CAD Technician.The RoleWorking under own initiative, with support from their close-knit Project Engineering team, fulfilling "inception to completion" design and draughting requirements for food processing lines.Developing models and fabrication drawings. Sheet-metal formations and structural steelwork. Working to and delivering highly hygienic (food safe) design standards.Delivering the wider project needs includes:-

  • Occaisional ite survey of operating areas
  • Steelwork design, stress calculations and simulation, fabrication drawings.
  • Access walkways and staircase design to current legislation.
  • Documented risk assessments for the specific solutions and the interacting layout.
  • Process layout refinement and design of interconnecting transfer chutes etc.
  • Identify foot-loadings for interaction with construction companies.
  • Receive "as installed" layouts from the installing engineer and update as necessary.
    • Our client has a developing range of process solutions. In the process of our client driving forwards, the ideal candidate will have experience in:-
  • Food machinery design
  • Hygienic food-safe solutions
  • Fabrication processes
  • CE marking, machinery directive and guarding requirements
  • Conversant with 2D & 3D
    • They cover the following Industry sectors:-Snacks food manufacturing - high volume production linesRoot crop processingCanningCoffee processingProject management of turn-key facilitiesCandidate (minimum) Attributes (dependent on entry level)3D SolidWorks trained and competent - industrial fabrication drawingsPrevious experience in equipment & steelwork design and fabrication techniquesIdeally 3 years industrial experienceHNC / HND qualification in engineeringDynamic, enthusiastic and flexible approachWilling to travel (occasional need for UK and foreign site surveys)Commercial awareness applied to designing - value engineering approachExcellent people skills and clear communicator with the ability to form strong team bondsComputer literate with working knowledge of the following:-SolidWorks (Weldments, sheet-metal, part modelling, piping, stress analysis)AutoCADThis position is commutable from Spalding, Wisbech, Grantham, March, Peterborough, Market Deeping.
