Job Description

ROLE: Welder LOCATION: Wellingborough HOURS OF WORK: 0700-1615 Monday - Thursday & 0700-1200 on Friday BASIC SALARY: £13.50 - £13.84 per hour plus £1,560 bonusADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Bonus, 22 days holiday, Private Medical, Death in Service, Career progressionCompany ProfileOur client is seeking a Welder to join their organisation based in Wellingborough on a permanent basis to provide a high quality, efficient welding service within the production team and wider operations department. Working within a highly skilled and qualifiedwelding team you will use a variety of jigs, fixtures, welding plant and manipulators to assemble and weld a wide range of coriolis mass flow instrumentation to exacting standards.In this Welder role, your responsibilities will be:

  • To carry out all required welding work for the production of coriolis flow meters to the highest standard
  • To acquire the knowledge and qualifications for welding the complete size / range of instruments ensuring the necessary quality standards are achieved.
  • To assist in other production related tasks, when required by the line team leader or Production Manager as appropriate within the line or wider production department.
  • To work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures as set out by the company, especially regarding Manual handling and PPE.
  • To maintain all welding equipment / hand tools in good working condition and keep the welding bays tidy / organised in line with company housekeeping standards.
  • To assist in development of new production methods, to assist in improvements to the present product lines or development of new products.
  • Perform TPM and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and fixtures as requested.
  • To support continuous improvement activity and take an active role in the implementation of improvements.
To be successful as a Welder:
  • Good general health
  • General interest in engineering, welding, and factory production operations
  • Good PC skills including Outlook.
  • Proven experience of TIG welding within high technology production / manufacturing company
  • Experience in welding stainless steel to a very high standard
  • Production experience in a small batch capital investment goods environment
