Job Description

Production TechnicianJob RoleDue to continued growth, our client near Cambridge is now looking to expand their production team. The role on offer is for an experienced production technician/electrician/wireman, looking to join a specialist, industry leading company where you will learnnew skills whilst working on high tech equipment, there will be future opportunities to progress within the company. This represents an ideal opportunity to join a market leading company that have been trading for almost 70 years, a leader in their specialistfield of x-ray security offering a complete range of solutions to meet customers needs.In this position you will be given full product training along with ongoing skills training and development. You will be wiring/assembling bespoke systems and prototypes, assisting in planning and execution, handling stock & spares and goods in/out. Once provenyou will be given the opportunity to join our field service engineer team.Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Able to loom, terminate cables and solder
  • Some mechanical fitting required
  • Electrical fault finding & troubleshooting - follow circuit diagram to spot own mistakes & wiring errors of others, follow logical fault-finding process (this may involve use of software to diagnose)
  • Ensure that all tasks and duties are carried out daily.
  • Maintain Production build documentation and complete forms as required by in-house procedures
Person Specification
  • Demonstrate an excellent work ethic with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • All applicants need to be quick learners - previous electrical manufacture experience is essential.
  • Good initiative coupled with the ability to apply and retain technical information.
  • Qualifications are not essential but a city and guilds level 3 electrical qualification, NVQ3 or similar will be beneficial.
Hours of Work and Pay
  • Monday - Thursday07:30 - 16:00 Friday 07:30 - 12.30
  • Up to £15.00per Hour DOE
