Do youThe Marketing and Student Recruitment team at University of the West of Scotland (UWS) has a requirement for an experienced, proactive and enthusiastic Senior Public Affairs Officer.You will have a strong, proven track record in developing and delivering public affairs projects and programmes - and building professional relationships - that inform and influence local, regional and national policymakers, and protect and enhance reputation.You will play an essential role in further enhancing UWSs influence on public policy and discourse.You will engage - and build productive and effective relationships - with key target stakeholders and partners, at local, regional and national levels. You will work with the wider Communications team and engage with colleagues across the institution - includingStrategic Planning - on a challenging remit across the public affairs and policy arena.You will develop a plan of strategic stakeholder communications activities aligned to - and in support of - the Universitys overall mission, objectives and strategy. You will be flexible and diplomatic, with an ability to effectively horizon-scan and providehigh-quality political monitoring insights, analysis and advice to colleagues, at all levels, on policies that impact the University, and wider higher education sector. You will proactively devise and deliver engaging events, briefings, papers, presentationsand speeches as required, and contribute to internal and external communications to our diverse audiences.The successful candidate should have the following:
