School of Education and Social SciencesPaisley Campus Lecturer in Drug and Alcohol Studies - REQ002155An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Drug and Alcohol Studies to join the Contemporary Drug and Alcohol Studies (CDAS) programme within the School of Education and Social Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland.The CDAS programme has delivered postgraduate drug and alcohol education in Scotland for over 40 years. The Team has a strong research portfolio aligned to the new UWS Centre for Social, Health and Environmental Inequalities and members are actively engagedin policy and practice development in Scotland and internationally.You will join a dedicated team who strive to continuously inspire our students and wider University community - and, through modern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges. The postholderwill play a central role in delivering an excellent and research-based student experience. They will be engaged in the development of educational thinking, practice and research in the broad areas of curriculum design, learning and teaching, and assessment.They will be knowledgeable in contemporary pedagogies, particularly in relation to co-creation and active learning, and be familiar with online learning environments and the principles of digital education. They will also be able to evidence positive practicein these areas. The postholder will produce and publish excellent research outputs commensurate with the stage of career and evidence an ability to attract independent research funding to support this work.The successful candidate should have the following:
