Applications are invited for this new post of Consultant Cardiologist. The post will be based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley with services at Vale of Leven Hospital, Alexandria. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team of Cardiologists and influence the future design and direction of the Service. It is our aim to accommodate the successful candidates’ chosen specialism, training needs and maintenance of skills. Dual accreditation in Cardiology and General Medicine is desirable but not essential. Applicants who are trained in pacemaker implantation would be welcomed.The successful candidate will integrate into a team to comprise sixConsultants. This post has been established to facilitate the redevelopment of Cardiology services at Royal Alexandra Hospital in line with the vision of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Clinical Services Review. The successful candidate will be encouraged to look critically at current service provision to promote ideas of partnership working and novel ways of dealing with current workload.The successful candidate will participate in the Clyde Consultant Cardiology on-call rota. MRCP UK or equivalent qualification is essential and you must have full registration with the GMC and a licence to practice. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher Specialist Training leading to a CCT in Cardiology or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within six months of confirmed entry at the date of interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
