The Clinical Coding Department are looking to recruit 3 Clinical Coders. Candidates require good communication skills and attention to detail, an understanding of Inpatient information and experience using TrakCare Patient Management System is essential. Good IT skills including experience of MS Excel and the ability to work to tight deadlines and respond to changing priorities are necessary. You will need to be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and a flexible approach within the work place. Clinical Coding involves the extraction of patient clinical information from various electronic systems, including TrakCare and Clinical Portal, assigning internationally recognised diagnostic and procedural codes to patient episodes following national standards and conventions. Full training will be given in the use of the classifications used, ICD and OPCS. Knowledge of Anatomy and Terminology is desirable. These posts will notionally be based in Smithhills Street, Paisley, but will cover all NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Coding sites and there will be a requirement to work flexibly across the Board. You should have a clearunderstanding ofthe Patient Management System and good keyboard skills. You should have knowledge of Inpatient recording procedures and knowledge of medical terminology.
