Our client is a global leader in the design and development of advanced Optical & Photonic products. They are currently looking for a knowledgeable Development Engineer - Optics/Analogue& Digital to join their product R&D Team. The role will involve input to the design and build of the products, verification of prototype performance against customer specifications and liaising with NPI and manufacturing teams to introduce the product to manufacture. Development of R&D test platformsand measurement automation will also be a requirement. The individual will work closely with other members of the design team, including optical and electronic engineers, test and process development engineers and the product qualification team to delivercost effective product solutions in a timely manner.Key responsibilities of this Optoelectronic R&D Engineer - Photonic/Lasers, Paignton, Devon are:*Work on optical communications systems both on system design & also analogue & digital hardware design.*Work with hardware, firmware and test teams during integration phase to bring up product*Definition and build of R&D test platforms and creation of test scripts *Design verification testing and characterisation of optical transceivers in alpha and beta phase of development, and creation of test reports.To apply for this Optoelectronic R&D Engineer - Photonic/Lasers position, based in Paignton, Devon, you must have a combination of the following:*Optical Communication systems, components and design*Analogue and digital design knowledge*Honours degree or equivalent in physics, optics, electronics or equivalent technical discipline*5 years relevant industrial experience ideally within the Telecommunications, Electronics or Defence area.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing R&D business.
