Job Description

Salary: £25,714 - 41, 604 (FTE) based on experienceHours: 40 (or pro rata)Contract type: Full-time / permanentReporting to: HeadteacherResponsible for: Line manage a group of staff which contribute to the strategic aims outlined belowMain purposeThe aim of this role is to oversee the programme delivery of our three stage programme journey, Bridging the Gap. This involves:

  • the quality assurance of the intent behind the programme to remain in line with the Schools unique ethos and methodological approach to working with young people.
  • to work closely with the leadership team to develop, change and maintain the implementation of all aspects of programme delivery as outlined in the roles in responsibilities below including staff learning & development.
  • to quality assure, analyse and act upon the impact of the programme on all young people at the school.
Additionally, the purpose of the role is to inspire a creative atmosphere for staff to flourish and work together; and to establish a culture which promotes the key aspects of our School and the greater community of the Trusts ethos.Duties and responsibilitiesStrategic
  • To work with the Senior Leadership Team to determine and quality assure the strategic development of all aspects of programme delivery including:
To develop and quality assure the Initial assessment and baselining of potential students; to assure that individualised targets meet the needs on an individual basis To develop and quality assure individualised programmes of delivery for new students as laid out from agreed targets set from the Trusts three-part assessment frameworkTo develop, implement, maintain and quality assure the systems of measuring progress to fall in line with the Trusts methodological approach to working with young people.To work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on developing the appropriate resources to facilitate the curriculum to be in line with the Trusts ethos and methodology.General Leadership Responsibilities: The Curriculum Lead, will be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
  • Contribute to school self-evaluation
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of national and local initiatives which may affect the schools policy and practice.
  • Evaluate whether funding is being used effectively, and propose changes to make use of funding more effective operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of provision
  • Work with educational psychologists, health and social care professionals, mental health services, independent and voluntary bodies.
  • Liaise with feeder schools when SEND has already been identified to ensure smooth transition
  • Be a key point of contact for external agencies and the local authority
  • Implement and lead intervention groups
  • Ensure records are maintained and kept up to date, and to take responsibility for relevant policies and updates
  • Coordinate, plan and chair all SEND reviews and EHC Annual Reviews
  • Communicate regularly with parents or carers
