Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a niche manufacturing business based in Otley, Wet Yorkshire, to recruit a brand new role as a Junior Buyer / Buyer.The business is a £14m t/o operation, working with local and international suppliers as part of the group global strategy, producing bespoke products for a global customer base.This role will provide purchasing assistance to meet material plans required for production, as well as source local products for ad hoc alternatives, youll manage group supplier relationships. The position offers the opportunity for an aspiring supply chainor purchasing professional to support in purchasing analysis and drive improvements across the inventory, be proactive with varying stakeholders.Duties will include:* Raising purchase orders for production raw materials - EXCEL is key to analysis data in this rolee.* Ensure timely deliveries of purchased parts with no unforeseen problems, communicating with suppliers to reschedule deliveries as necessary* Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and delivery terms* Support the wider team with supplier quotation activities* Assist in analysis and management of stock levels* Maintain accuracy of purchased goods and services* Monitor and report on supplier performance* Contribute to innovation and improvements within the department* Provide general administration and project support to the Supply Chain Manager* Manage existing and future orders from order placement through to delivery of goods, documentation and final paymentResponsibilities:* On a weekly basis you will be responsible for ensuring that all materials are issued to the relevant area by the agreed cut of times* Build a strong working relationship with suppliers to ensure materials delivered against agreed schedules* On both a weekly and monthly basis you will be responsible for producing reports for both internal and external stakeholders* Forecast for suppliers on long lead time delivery needs* Assist in root cause analysis with suppliers, assisting with helping to improve performance to the agreed standard* Creating purchase orders* Management and maintain agreed safety stocksRequired Skills and Experience:* 1+ years experience of supply chain, purchasing, supply planning, material planning in a manufacturing, production environment* A proven record of working to tight deadline* The ability to communicate both written and verbally* Previous experience of working with both ERP and MRP systems* Good IT background regarding Microsoft Outlook including Excel.In return you will receive* Salary up to £28,000 pa* Career Enhancement from learning with a hands on Mentor* Pension Scheme:* Holiday :> Site based position as you learn and develop processes that will allow more the ability in have a professional working pattern thats modern and mature.Elevation Recruitment Groups Procurement and Supply Chain division work with a vast range of businesses across Yorkshire and Humberside, Lincolnshire and East Midlands regions.
