Job Description

Fast growing online fashion retailer in the UK is looking to add fresh talent to their buying team. They have a presence in the UK, Europe and around the world and operate across several websites and ship to over 100 countries, plus stores in the UK and Europe.They really are going from strength to strength and have a great online presence with thousands of followers and fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and are experts at reacting quickly to the market. Based in their Head Office in Peterborough this is a hands on buying role suitable for a successful Buyer with the skills and experience of both brand development and hands on buying combined with the ability to lead and develop a teamJob Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Expand and develop the Brand identity that maximises the potential of tall market product
  • Develop and buy a range of products that provides both wardrobe staples and fashion product for our specialist customer, which is appropriate to the market and is in line with current trends
  • Develop and buy a range of product that adapts to maximise trading potential in the market places in which it is planned to trade in, finding new market places when relevant
  • Develop a range of accessory product that complement and enhance the product offer
  • Provide direction and support for buying team members ensuring targets are identified and met, giving development and mentoring where required
  • Ensure a comprehensive supply base for product range that has the capability and capacity to consistently deliver against current and future growth requirements
  • Conduct effective negotiations with suppliers that provides a commercial proposition whilst maintains production standards and product integrity
  • Conduct continuous market appraisal to both benchmark against and to outperform the competition
  • Continuous evolution of the offer to ensure it continues to meet customer expectations for newness and variety
  • Working with CEO and Trading Director to define, implement and review the intake and margin strategy
  • Work with product support team to ensure standards of fit and quality are maintained
  • Regularly review customer feedback and use to develop and enhance product offer
  • Define & deliver against the critical path for products, liaising with product support and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of intake & warehouse volumes can be met
  • Ensure that suppliers conform to our code of ethics and urgently address any potential issues

  • Must have demonstrable successful experience buying within ladies fashion with experience of specialist markets
  • Team leadership & management experience
  • Expert knowledge of sourcing and key contacts
  • Results driven with sound commercial acumen
  • Strategic thinker with a hands on, action oriented approach
  • Keen negotiator
  • Passion for the brand with a strong understanding of the demands of our customer
  • Highly motivated and a desire to be the best with proven ability to work well as a team
