Job Description

A financial services organisation offering savings, investment, and protection products are seeking a Compliance Technical and Financial Crime Team Leader.Summary of RoleThe successful candidate will work with the Head of Compliance to ensure the organisation conducts its with business in compliance with its regulatory requirements. Also, to manage the smooth running of the Technical and Financial Crime Team.The job holder will have two direct reports, whose work they will need to oversee. They will need to develop employees, provide feedback on performance, and assign work appropriately. There may be a need to hire and train new staff.Responsibilities

  • Keep up to date with all regulatory and statutory changes, ensuring policies are updated and shared across the organisation.
  • Responsible for collating and updating the Compliance Manual, the Financial Crime Manual and the Advisers Guide.
  • Keep the breach registers up to date and follow up on actions. Provide an update on breaches to the quarterly Compliance Report to the Audit and Compliance Committee.
  • Assist with oversight of regulatory reporting to the FCA.
  • Oversee the regulatory horizon scanning process.
  • Written and verbal training on regulatory matters as required.
  • Assistance with GDPR compliance and Subject Access Requests.
  • Oversee financial promotions and training material sign off.
  • Deputy MLRO - Oversee the recording, investigations and conclusion of financial crime suspicious activity incident reports.
  • Liaison with Law Enforcement authorities.
  • Management of the Compliance inbox and responding to requests for advice from the business.
  • Compliance support for company projects.
Experience, skills and knowledge
  • Long experience of financial services particularly Life and Pensions.
  • Preferably CII/PFS Diploma in Financial Services or equivalent qualified.
  • Able to interpret and communicate financial services sector regulations across full spectrum of products and services.
  • Excellent communicator with good verbal, written and listening skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Positive and enthusiastic about change.
  • Able to build relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of people
