Job Description

Here at Hamilton Barnes we are a Recruitment Consultancy that focuses on recruiting Networking & Fibre specialists in the UK and Europe. We are currently recruiting Cabling Engineers to join a leading Multi Utilities Contractor in Orpington.Why would you want to work for this Company:

    • Role
  • As a Cabling Engineer, the role will mean you be will part of a cabling gang and report into the supervisor on site. You will directly be working on national telecoms infrastructure and will be directly involved on the upgrade and maintenance project. Whilst also being directly responsible for working on the fixed line network carrying out the installation and removal of poles.
    • Responsibilities
  • Testing rodding and roping UG ducts
  • Identification of traffic management requirements
  • Replacing and the renewal of existing drop-wires
  • Replacing current cable whilst also installing new OH cables
  • Being able to read and understand BT duct diagrams
  • Renewing OH joints on the network
  • Competent in working in confined spaces
  • Proceeding with some light civils work: digging and backfilling, the replacement and reinstating new poles
  • Working to PON completion deadlines, ensuring that requirements are met
  • Being able to work outdoors
    • Experience / Requirements
  • Previous Telecom experience & good understanding of the copper network
  • Hold a valid NRSWA Street works Operative Licence Unit 2
  • Jointing experience
  • Previous experience working on OH FTTB/FTTP poling projects
  • Experience working at heights in challenging environments
  • Hold Openreach overhead, jointing and cable accreditation modules (Desirable)
  • Full Driving Licence
  • NOPS Registration
  • Openreach Desirable Accreditations
