Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a young but rapidly growing Main Contractor who specialise in New Build, Refurb and Fit-Out.The company are based in Oldham. The Quantity Surveyor will be delivering a variety of key projects that could range from anything to Design and Build, Heritage, Bespoke Housebuilding the Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with an experienced construction professional. As the company is in its early stages there is excellent opportunities for progression as the company grows. For Permanent - Salary and Package are negotiable dependent upon experience and value add. Freelance will be £250-£300 a day dependent upon experience. Once again can be negotiated/increased based on the value that is brought to the business. Some of the Quantity Surveyors key responsibilities will include: * Preparing cost estimates and budgets * Managing project costs and ensuring they remain within budget * Preparing and presenting cost reports to clients and stakeholders * Negotiating contracts and subcontracts with suppliers and subcontractors * Managing and resolving commercial and contractual issues * Ensuring project profitability and controlling project cash flow Key requirements: * A degree in Quantity Surveying or similar * A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role * Experience delivering projects within budget and to a high standard in the UK * Previous Construction experience. * Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills * Experience with cost management software * A full driving license and willingness to travel as required
