Job Description

Job purpose:As the Property Paralegal for First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO), you will play an instrumental role in supporting the Residential Conveyancer with Right to Buy and Right to Acquire cases and purchases of freehold. You will also support the commercial propertyfunction, responding to queries and collating documents. You will assist with drafting legal documents including leases, licences, deeds, transfers, SDLT submissions, HMLP applications and reports on title. You will undertake legal research and maintaingood administrative practices, maintaining a caseload to completion.Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Residential Conveyancer with RTB/RTA, lease extensions, purchase of freehold, right of first refusal, garden licences
  • Supporting commercial property cases, completing responses to queries and collating documents
  • Drafting property documents, reading plans and obtaining and explaining Land Registry documents
  • Managing cases to completion
  • Liaising with other departments to gain understanding and progress matters
  • Compliance with money laundering checks
Qualifications and experience:
  • You will have completed a degree in law, or a law conversion course
  • If you are not already a qualified solicitor/CILEx practitioner or Chartered Legal Executive then you will be committed to undertaking further studies and qualifications to reach qualification
  • You will be able to demonstrate experience of property work
  • You will have experience of client care and be committed to the highest standards of professional practice and ethics
  • Demonstrate commitment to the corporate values
