Job Description

Are you a graduate looking for work in Oldham Are you considering a career in teaching and looking to gain practical classroom experienceI am currently recruiting for enthusiastic and articulate graduates for full time temporary work as cover supervisors in an Ofsted Good secondary academy in north Oldham.The role is to start immediately on a full-time temporary basis.The RoleGraduate Cover SupervisorWorking hours are 8.20am to 3.20pmThe role will include:

  • Taking the lead in the absence of the teacher
  • Sole responsibility for teaching and learning
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons
  • Using provided resources to encourage learning
  • Managing the behaviour within the classroom
  • Developing independent study skills and peer learning
  • Pastoral and learning support
  • Managing handover back to the teacher
  • A degree in science, humanities, English or sports would be beneficial.

  • a minimum of six weeks experience in the last 3 years of working with groups of children or teenagers

  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Bachelors degree or similar equivalent qualification
  • Able to get to Oldham by 8.30 with 30 minutes notice.
