Job Description

JOB TITLE: WAREHOUSE OPERATIVEREPORTING TO: Warehouse ManagerLOCATION: OldburyHOURS OF WORK: Mon-Thursday 13.00 - 22.00. Friday 13.00-19.00. 40 Hour paid week.Mon-Fridayhour unpaid lunch break.Mon-Thursday Two 15 minutes paid breaks.Friday half hour early finish in lieu of 2 x 15 paid breaks.ROLE:This role is to join an afternoon shift where each person is expected to be flexible to work in each section as the work demands. Those areas being Stainless bar warehouse, Stainless bar cutting and Tool Steel bar/block.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Goods receiving - unloading of vehicles and booking goods in, including preliminary inspection in accordance with quality procedures. Resolving any booking in queries. Locating goods within the warehouse racking and ensuring SAP location updated.Picking and packing of goods for despatch. Loading of vehicles.Stock taking of stainless bar to be done primarily during afternoon shift throughout the year. To consolidate stock to gain storage efficiencies.Operating range of Bandsaws. Utilising mobile handling equipment to obtain bar and blocks to be cut to requirement and completing all inspection, documents and relevant data within SAP. Packing finished goods.Maintaining identification and traceability of product throughout the manufacturing and stock control processes.Operate Warehouse Management System in SAP and carry out other assigned computer based tasks as required.Comply with process and procedures and all instructed safe working practises, including the reporting of all accidents, incidents and near misses in the workplace.Basic preventative maintenance of equipment, including ensuring a clean workplace.Actively contribute towards continuous improvement projects and ideas.Achieve individual and team productivity performance standards including accuracy.Any other duties which may be required from time to time according to the needs of the business.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Good literacy, numeracy, communication skills to perform warehouse and cutting practises.A flexible, friendly approach with a team focus and can-do attitude.Awareness of and respect for Health & SafetyPC literate.Ability to work to agree targets and KPIsInitiative, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.Overhead crane up to 20T.Counterbalance and Reach, ideally 4 way, fork trucks.Salary is £24,000 - £25,000 + generous benefits (Pension, Bonus, Bupa, etc)
