TOOL MAKER - TECHNICAL CENTRE SHOP FLOOREXTERNAL VACANCYReports to: Technical Manager - Technical CentreLocation: Oldbury, West Midlands, shop floorWork schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7.30am to 4pm with a 30-minute lunch break each day, and Friday, 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch break - a total of 37 hours a week, paid monthly.This position is crucial. The ideal applicant will be able to operate under pressure and have practical experience in a press tool production and repair setting. The person will be required to give the most effective support possible for daily productionactivities, working with a team to deliverpreventative, breakdown, and development activities to support the manufacturing divisions.Person specification» Well organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated and professional» Good timekeeping and attendance» Responsible for achieving own key objectives, as well as the objectives of the team» Able to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines under pressure» Computer literate and able to communicate and record information effectively» Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount» Able to communicate at all levels and have a "can do" attitude» Able to read engineering drawingsYour responsibilities» Operate standard tool room equipment proficiently, including EDM Wire Eroding machines» Operate a Forklift Truck to assist with daily duties whilst also enabling tooling to be delivered to production» Ensure as part of the team, all breakdowns are covered in a timely manner to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum» Aim for a "right first time" approach to all work carried out» Liaise with contractors/suppliers where required and when additional support is needed, including agreeing timescales and costs» Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and Company rulesand procedures» Follow verbal or written instructions and work to set out procedures» Seek continuous improvement related to the business KPIs and as part of the team, contribute towards improved performanceand the overall improvement of the busines
